Crown KL Runs 10K Corporate Challenge Marathon

Standard Chartered Bank, Kuala Lumpur's 2009 Marathon, themed "Run Your Race," was the ninth race in a worldwide series that spans four continents and attracts more than 230,000 runners. Crown KL was invited to contribute and participate in the 10K, corporate challenge race to help raise funds for five charities which include Standard Chartered Trust Fund; Shelter Home for Children; Development of Human Resources for Rural Areas, Malaysia; National Autism Society of Malaysia; and the Malaysian Nature Society.

The marathon started, at 6:30 a.m., from Malaysia's historic Dataran Merdeka and runners passed through the heart of Kuala Lumpur's central financial district, by the iconic KLCC Twin Towers and Menara Standard Chartered.

Crown's representatives, Damian Cross, quality development manager, Dennis Muldowney, GMS division manager, and Richard Thiagaraj, national operations manager, RMS, completed the race within an hour and 20 minutes.

The marathon not only encouraged team building, it also provided a great opportunity for Crown KL staff to run for a good cause.
