How many times can I meet the career consultant face-to-face during the Global Career program?
During the period of the Global Career program you can meet the career consultant as many times as you wish. Generally meeting once a week is enough to focus on different aspects of the job search; developing new skills and other discussions can take place in between meetings.
How long does the Global Career program run?
The full Global Career program lasts three months from the time you enter your new country. Introduction emails and phone calls can begin prior to your arrival if initiation is established before hand.
I am very nervous about interviewing. How can the Global Career consultant help me?
Global Career consultants are highly experienced in interviewing and the techniques required in giving a good interview. They will use their knowledge to help you understand the interviewing process in your new country and guide you through the formats and likely questions that will be asked. Mock interviews and role plays can be arranged to make you feel more comfortable and less nervous before the big day.
English is not my first language. How can the Global Career consultant assist?
If your first language is not the language spoken in your new country, your Global Career consultant will assist you in finding language lessons for you to develop your skills. Looking for a new job when speaking a second or third language takes time and effort and your consultant will help you gain confidence and assist you in proof reading emails, cover letters and CVs prior to sending them out to prospective employers.
Can the Global Career consultant help me get documents translated?
Yes, Crown Relocations is an international company with many nationalities in each office. With this skilled workforce and relationships with outside translating services, it is quite simple for your career consultant to have your work-related documents translated into the local language.
I do not have a CV/ Resume. How do I get started?
Your Global Career consultant has templates to assist you in writing that perfect CV/resume and cover letters, whether you need to start from scratch or help rewriting what you have already formatted. Valuable information is also given to the country's CV/resume preferences and formats to guide you further.
I would like to develop my skills into a new area and not start work straight away. How can I find out about the local courses in my area of interest?
Your Global Career consultant has a resource center of information on each educational institution in your new city and can assist you in researching the best courses to suit your requirements. If you are not sure which is the best way forward, you will be able to discuss and gain counseling as you sort through the options from your consultant.
Can the Global Career consultant help me meet new people?
Networking is an intrinsic part of finding a new job–especially in Asia. Your Global Career consultant will introduce you to the right networking circles and advise you of the appropriate cultural practices for you to get the best result out of each situation.
I would like to confirm a job offer prior to my arrival. Is this possible?
Depending on your experience and the sector you work in, it is possible to secure employment prior to arrival. Most companies however like to interview face-to-face and will wait until you are in the country before an interview or job is offered. Your Global Career consultant will send you the most up dated sector information and brief you on the market trends in your new country so you can understand the best way to approach your job search.
There are so many recruitment agencies to register with. How do I find the right one for my sector?
The Global Career program has built solid relationships with the local and international recruitment agencies in your new country. Upon sourcing the most relevant ones to your sector, your consultant will contact each agency and locate the best for you to register with upon arrival.
Where do the meetings take place?
Most people choose to meet with their Global Career consultant within a Crown Relocations Office for the convenience of access to computers, fax machines and scanners. But they can take place in a convenient location near you as well.
How do you select your Global Career consultants?
Each Global Career consultant is chosen for their skills and experience in recruitment, human resources and/or career counseling. Training is given to ensure that all career consultants are consistent in their approach to each individual's requirements and regular feedback is gathered to maintain a high level of service.
